Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know about prints, framing, shipping, and care.

Section One

Materials & Framing

What is the difference between an Art Print and a Canvas Print?

Art prints and canvas prints differ in both the substrate (paper vs. canvas) and the way they are finished and framed. Paper prints are typically framed behind UV-shielding acrylic and can be matted; canvas prints are framed without acrylic for a more painterly, non-reflective appearance.

For a full comparison of paper types, canvas finishes, and frame styles, see Our Papers & Frames.

Should I choose paper or canvas for my framed art print?

Framed paper art prints are protected by UV-shielding and shatterproof acrylic. Choose paper whenever you’d like your framed artwork to be matted, or finished with the extra protection that acrylic offers.

Canvas prints are framed (when applicable) without acrylic, making them an excellent option when you want artwork that is totally non-reflective. We also love canvas for most closely resembling original paintings. Please note that unless a frame is selected, canvas prints will arrive rolled and unstretched.

Are Canvas Prints stretched?

Our canvas prints are known as unstretched canvas, or rolled canvas. They are printed to the edge and trimmed by hand, so they arrive ready to frame and may not be suitable for float framing. We also offer Stretched Canvas for most artwork.

Section Two

Shipping & Production

When will my order ship?

Production time is 4–5 business days for art prints and canvas prints. Framed artwork has a production time of 5–10 business days. Shipping time is not included in this estimate.

If you order both prints and framed artwork, you may receive more than one tracking number due to differences in production time.

Occasionally, unexpected supply chain delays do occur. We appreciate your patience in those moments, as the delay is beyond our control. We are not able to offer refunds or cancellations for unexpected delays.

I need my artwork by a certain date. Do you offer expedited shipping?

We do not offer expedited shipping at this time, and we cannot guarantee a specific delivery date.

Section Three

I think my order is lost in transit.

Please contact us and include your order number. We are happy to help with a replacement if your artwork is lost in transit.

Please note that most mail carriers require 7 days without a tracking update before they will accept a loss claim. We will track with you and place a loss claim as soon as the mail carrier allows it.

My artwork arrived damaged, or there is an issue with my order. What do I do?

If your artwork has arrived damaged or appears in any way incorrect, please refer to I Need Help with My Order and contact us within 7 days of the delivery date. We’ll help with a repair or replacement.

In case of transit damage or any reported concern, we will need photographs of the artwork and the original packaging in order to assist with a prompt replacement or repair. These may be sent to us at contact (at) museumqualityart (dot) com.

Please retain the artwork and the original packaging until an appropriate repair or replacement is confirmed. Unfortunately we are not able to assist with replacements or repairs where these requirements are not met.
